Introduction

ELDRA is a tabletop role‐playing system built on the foundation of the Fate Core System. While it retains Fate’s narrative‐driven mechanics, ELDRA introduces structured subsystems designed to promote balanced and coherent character creation.

The setting is rooted in a dark, gothic world—ELDRA—where shadows reign and light is scarce. ELDRA is particularly suited for high fantasy medieval campaigns, with a focus on magic, conflict, and complex character dynamics. However, the system itself is modular and adaptable, allowing game masters to apply its core mechanics to any setting they choose.

One of ELDRA’s defining principles is its flexibility. Magicians are not restricted to wearing light armor, nor are warriors prevented from casting spells. Spells require no material components, and class stereotypes are deliberately avoided.

Players are encouraged to create characters that align with their vision, free from rigid archetypes. At the same time, the system ensures gameplay balance through carefully designed mechanics and progression rules.

ELDRA is ideal for players who enjoy narrative‐driven, high‐stakes storytelling with the freedom to build unique characters outside traditional fantasy molds. Whether you’re a seasoned Fate GM or exploring the system for the first time, ELDRA offers tools that reward creativity without sacrificing fairness.

The system draws inspiration from grim and mythic fantasy, such as Dark Souls, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and Berserk, where moral ambiguity and personal sacrifice shape the fate of entire worlds.
